U.S. soldier killed in Baghdad

An American soldier was killed Saturday in insurgent attack with small arms fire in Baghdad, the U.S. military said in a statement on Sunday.

"A Multi-National Division - Baghdad Soldier died on Saturday night when terrorists attacked his patrol with small-arms fire in western Baghdad," the military said in a statement.

Since the U.S.-led war in Iraq broke out in March 2003, about 2, 820 U.S. soldiers have been killed in the country, according to media count.
