Mindaugas Pukstas of Lithuania won the men's competition at the 28th Intercontinental Eurasia Marathon in Istanbul on Sunday, while the women's race was won by Russian runner Madina Biktagirova.
Pukstas clocked a time of two hours 12 minutes and 52 seconds to finish ahead of Ukrainian athlete Andriy Naumov (2:12:59) and Russian Sergei Lukin (2:13:08), according to Turkey's semi-official Anatolia news agency.
Meanwhile, Biktagirova ranked the first in a time of 2:28:21 in women's category and was followed by Russian athletes Liliya Yadzhak (2:29:22) and Natalya Volgina (2:30:07).
Eurasia marathon started in the Asian part of Istanbul, cross the 1.5-km-long Bosphorus Bridge, and finished in front of Dolmabahce Palace in European side of Istanbul.
