Malaysia to help improve China's radio service in Malay
font size

Malaysian Information Ministry will send an officer to China soon to help improve the Malay language service of China Radio International (CRI), Minister Zainuddin Maidin said Tuesday.

An officer from Radio Television Malaysia will be dispatched to work in Beijing for a one-year term, Zainuddin told reporters after attending a function here.

"A request from China Radio was received three days ago and we have no qualms in sending an officer over there as soon as possible," said Zainuddin.

The information minister further said, "We always give serious consideration to efforts aimed at strengthening ties between Malaysia and China."

Zainuddin, who had visited the radio station, praised the disc jockeys (DJ) working there for their command of Malay language.

CRI's broadcasting service in Malay has listeners from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore.
