Chinese credit facilities help Africa develop: Kenyan official
font size

China's willingness to provide concessional credit facilities has helped African countries speed up development, a Kenyan top official said in Nairobi Wednesday.

Kenyan Trade Minister Mukhisa Kituyi said China's credit facilities are attractive for Africa and are timely in helping Africa to address its development challenges.

During the launch of a World Bank report on China-Africa trade in Nairobi, Kituyi said although it was still important to engage with the World Bank, the emergence of China on the financial scene was a factor that would force the Bretton Woods institution to change its policies on Africa.
