Cambodia's tourist destination Siem Reap and Vietnam's sight-seeing spot Tho Thean Ve have signed an agreement to enhance mutual friendship and cooperation in the sectors of business, tourism, economy and social works, a government official said on Saturday.

Sou Phearin, Governor of Siem Reap Province, told Xinhua by phone that the agreement would benefit both sides, especially in the field of tourism.

"We hope it to help attract more tourists to Siem Reap," he said, adding that Tho Thean Ve Province could also enjoy the benefits as it had a lot of natural and cultural resorts.

"We plan to have direct flights soon between the two provinces. Please wait and see," he said.

The agreement was also expected to offer job opportunities for local people and boost the economic growth.

The Angkor historical Park is situated in Siem Reap, drawing millions of travelers annually.
