Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Donald Tsang has said that Hong Kong would continue to play its role as an international center for finance, trade and business services, according to a press release issued by Hong Kong government in Hong Kong on Saturday.

The Chief Executive said in Paris on Friday that Hong Kong is the best starting point in China for overseas businesses.

"Hong Kong is a starting point that offers a transparent and familiar business environment, and a legal system that is independent and impartial," He said.

During his visit France, Donald Tsang told French business organizations that Hong Kong is an important platform for both large and small companies in their exploring opportunities in China and Asia as a whole.

He stressed that Hong Kong firmly believed that the quality of its business environment was the best incentive to attract companies to "Asia's world city".

Tsang urged French companies to consider a move to China, especially Hong Kong and Guangdong province.

He said that currently Guangdong has offered the industrial and manufacturing might, while Hong Kong has offered unparalleled services needed for international finance and trade to flourish.

The Chief Executive also provided an update on Hong Kong's development since it return to the motherland, saying the "One Country, Two Systems" principle was working well.
