The Peace Committee constituted by the ruling Nepali Seven Party Alliance has given final shape to the peace agreement reached between the government and the guerrillas, the national news agency RSS reported on Sunday.
A meeting of the committee held Saturday evening at the Peace Secretariat in Kathmandu gave final touches to the draft of the peace agreement, the report said.
The draft of the agreement incorporates topics related to the permanent cease-fire, lasting peace, human rights, and management of arms and the armies.
Coordinator of the Peace Committee and Nepali Congress General Secretary Ram Chandra Poudel told RSS that the draft contains topics like outlining the mines and making public the status of explosives within 30 days and de-mining and defusing them within 60 days.
The draft would be presented to the government and the guerrilla talks teams Sunday for them to study, he said.
A comprehensive peace agreement should be concluded within this month as per the understanding reached between the seven political parties and the guerrillas on November 8.
As per the agreement, future of the monarchy will be decided by the first meeting of the Constituent Assembly. Besides, the interim government containing guerrillas will be formed by December 1, the present House of Representatives will be dissolved by November 26 and new constitution will be announced by the date, the guerrilla's armed forces "People's Liberation Army" will be kept in seven divisions and 21 brigades across the country by November 21.
An interim legislature containing 330 members will be formed, according to the agreement.
