The Indonesian House of Representatives Monday expressed its full support to government's recent efforts to attract bigger investment from China, but warned against lengthy bureaucratic procedures which could hamper capital flows.
"The House supports the government's efforts to attract more investments from China following the president's recent visit to the country," House Speaker Agung Laksono said in a speech delivered to mark the resumption of the House meeting session.
Agung said the government needs to ensure that the investment commitments will be materialized to help create more jobs and reduce poverty rate in the country.
"It depends largely on the implementation on the ground, where we remain worried about bureaucratic red tapes and technical problems that discourage investments," he said.
