The Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK) accused the United States of imposing threat against it by deploying huge amounts of nuclear weapons in South Korea, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Monday.
South Korea has become the "biggest nuclear outpost in the Far East with stockpiles of more than 1,000 U.S. nuclear weapons," said a statement by the official Korean National Peace Committee.
"It (the U.S.) has barred the denuclearization of the peninsula and put the Korean nation in the constant danger of a nuclear war, " it said.
DPRK reiterated that it conducted the nuclear test just for self-defense and called on all Koreans to "frustrate the U.S. moves to stifle the DPRK and launch a nuclear war and stage fierce anti-U.S. resistance in different parts of the country."
The DPRK nuclear test early last month sparked UN condemnations and sanctions.
The DPRK announced early this month that it had decided to return to the six-party talks.
