Senior Chinese Official meets with Italian vice P.M.

Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, met with Italian Vice Premier and Foreign Minister Massimo D'Alema in Beijing on Monday.

Both sides expressed their satisfaction with the relationship between China and Italy. Wang thanked D'Alema for his work in promoting ties between the two countries and expressed his hope that relations could continue to develop.

D'Alema said that the Italian new government highly regarded its relationship with China and would like to contribute to improving relations between the EU and China. .
