The income of Beijing's urban citizens grew 13.7 percent and rural residents' revenues rose 10.4 percent in the first 10 months of this year, sources with the local statistical bureau announced on Tuesday.

Between January and October, urban residents' per-capita disposable income averaged 16,677 yuan (2,116 U.S. dollars).

Low-income earners, 20 percent of the city's urban population, saw their per-capita disposable income go up 14.9 percent to 8,150 yuan (1,034 U.S. dollars), while high-income earners, another 20 percent of the total urban population, saw their income increase by 13.1 percent to 30,964 yuan (3,923 U.S. dollars).

The sources said over the 10-month period, the per-capital net cash income of rural residents averaged 8,326 (1,057 U.S. dollars), up 10.4 percent.
