Twenty-one people on a Taiwanese airliner were injured when the plane was forced to make an emergency landing in the Republic of Korea (ROK) to avoid a possible collision with another aircraft on Thursday morning, according to news from Taipei.
A spokesman for Far Eastern Air Transports said its flight EF 306 made an emergency landing according to regulations after an alarm went off which indicated that a Thai Airlines aircraft was close and at the same altitude.
Some of the passengers failed to secure their safety belts in time and were slightly injured as the flight descended abruptly, according to the spokesman.
The 21 injured include 16 passengers and five crew members. There were 129 passengers on board the flight which was bound for ROK's Cheju Island.
