China strongly opposes interference in internal affairs of other countries: Foreign Ministry
font size

"China strongly opposes interference in the internal affairs of other countries," Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said on Thursday.

Jiang made the statement when asked to comment on recent remarks about China made by Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

"China has always advocated dialogue on the basis of equality and mutual respect to broaden common consensus and narrow differences," Jiang said at a regular press conference.

"China attaches great importance to China-Canada relations," Jiang said, adding that Chinese President Hu Jintao is scheduled to meet with Harper during the APEC meeting.
