Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive ( CE) of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR), said Thursday that the government is to pay more attention to the gap between the rich and the poor.
The CE said in his 90-minute policy address that the MSAR government is to spare no effort to help the common people benefit from the social development.
Ho said the government is to be in hard bid to improve the life quality of the poor and to support the disabled and the aged.
The government is to decrease the tax pressure of the middle class and to produce a more friendly and high-quality environment for investors, Ho said.
Ho also stressed that the government is to help build a more general health network, fully using all government and civilian medical resources.
The government is to boost the setting up of the retirement funds for the private enterprises and to explore the feasibility of the cut of income taxes of the private employees, he said.
