Chinese President Hu Jintao said Friday in Hanoi that China will work with Chile to continuously push forward bilateral overall cooperative partnership.

Hu made the remark at a meeting with Chilean President Michelle Bachelet. They are here to attend the 14th APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Economic Leaders' Meeting here from Nov. 17 to 19.

Hu spoke highly of the development of Sino-Chilean relations and said China attaches great importance to cooperation with Chile.

The Chinese side will make concerted efforts with the Chilean side to ensure an early conclusion of their negotiations on service trade and investment, said Hu.

Bachelet said she is convinced that the service trade and investment arrangements will be mutually beneficial.

She said Chile supports China's important role in world peace, stability and development, and appreciates China's cooperation with Africa and its efforts for the peaceful solution to the nuclear issue of the Korean Peninsula.

She said Chile, as a good friend and partner, will help the development of relations between China and other Latin American countries.

Hu started a state visit to Vietnam Wednesday as guest of the Vietnamese Communist Party leader Nong Duc Manh and President Nguyen Minh Triet.

Vietnam is the first leg of Hu's four-nation tour, which will also take him to Laos, India and Pakistan.
