British Prime Minister Tony Blair will visit Pakistan on Saturday for the third round of Bilateral Summit Consultations, a foreign office spokesperson said on Friday.
The Summit Consultations had been agreed in the Joint Statement titled "Partnership for Peace and Prosperity" issued during Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf's visit to London in December, 2004, state-run APP reported.
In addition to his meeting with the president, Blair will have a meeting with the prime minister. He is also expected to meet a group of Muslim leaders, said the spokesperson.
A Development Partnership Agreement is proposed to be signed during the visit, the spokesperson said.
As per this agreement the United Kingdom would raise its development assistance to Pakistan from 236 million pounds to 480 million pounds. This amount would be disbursed in the next three years.
The visit signifies the growing partnership between Pakistan and the UK and the frequency of contacts at the highest level, said the spokesperson.
Blair will leave for Kabul of Afghanistan on Monday.
