The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Saturday accused South Korea of backing a UN draft resolution on its human rights records, saying such an action seriously damaged the inter-Korean relations.
In a statement issued by the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland, the DPRK described South Korea's support for the UN draft resolution as a provocation against it.
"Such an action made a new obstacle for inter-Korean relations, " said the statement, adding that "South Korea should take full responsibility for the aftermath of its decision."
South Korea on Friday supported a draft resolution on the DPRK's human rights passed by the UN General Assembly's Third Committee. It was the first time for South Korea to support such a resolution.
