Chinese President Hu Jintao met some leaders or representative of APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) member economies on the sidelines of the two-day 14th Economic Leaders' Meeting of the regional forum, which began on Saturday in Hanoi, capital of Vietnam.

The Chinese president exchanged views with them on further promotion of bilateral relations and the APEC process.

During the meeting between Hu and Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, the two leaders expressed satisfaction with the overall progress in bilateral strategic partnership and cooperation in energy, power and infrastructure construction.

They agreed to further bilateral relations and cooperation.

In the meeting between Hu and New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark, both sides spoke positively of the new progress in bilateral cooperation in various fields, and agreed to continue to push forward free trade area negotiations between the two countries.

Hu and Papua New Guinean Prime Minister Michael Somare expressed their pleasure at the consensus the two sides have reached on strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields, and they agreed to make joint efforts to implement the consensus.

In the meeting between Hu and Canadian Prime minister Stephen Harper, they voiced the great attention they pay to relations between the two countries and said they will make concerted efforts to strengthen cooperation.

Mexican Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs Maria de Lourdes Aranda Bezaury, representative of Mexican President Vicente Fox, conveyed Fox's greetings to Hu, and said Mexican President-elect Felipe Calderon is willing to further bilateral relations and economic and trade cooperation with China.

Hu asked Aranda to convey his regards to Fox and Calderon, and said China will continue to work with Mexico to promote friendship between the two peoples and mutually-beneficial cooperation between China and Mexico.
