font size

Bulgarian Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev left Beijing on Tuesday afternoon for China's business hub of Shanghai to continue his five-day China visit.

During his Beijing tour, he held talks with Premier Wen Jiabao, and met with top legislator Wu Bangguo and Vice President Zeng Qinghong, respectively.

Both sides agreed to take active steps to further enhance trade cooperation between the two countries.

Stanishev, who is here as Wen's guest, promised to work with China to increase mutual investment and set up joint ventures to push forward bilateral trade cooperation in a comprehensive and balanced manner.

Besides talks and meetings with Chinese leaders, Stanishev also attended a China-Bulgaria economic and trade forum on Monday, as he believed the two should tap greater potential for trade cooperation along with Bulgaria's accession to the European Union on Jan. 1, 2007

Stanishev will conclude his visit to China on Thursday.
