China hopes to see positive results from 10th ASEAN Plus Three SummitThe Chinese government is to send a high-level delegation to the 10th ASEAN plus Three (China, Japan and the Republic of Korea) Summit and the meeting would achieve positive results. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Jiang Yu announced the move on Thursday in a briefing on the summit to be held in Cebu City in the central Philippines. Jiang said the summit would focus on reviewing cooperation between the 10 ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) countries and China, Japan and the Republic of Korea (ROK). The ASEAN, Chinese, Japanese and ROK leaders would exchange in-depth views on consolidating cooperation and using the ten plus three format as the main channel to build an east Asian community. ASEAN is a regional organization comprising Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam.
