The spokesperson of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council on Friday extended sympathy and solicitude to Shaw Hsiao-ling, wife of Taichung Mayor Jason C. Hu, who injured in a car crash.

"If needed, the mainland will provide all the necessary medical assistance," the spokesperson said.
