Spanish business group Elecnor on Friday won the bid for building an electric transmission line connecting the states of Acre, Rondonia and Mato Grosso with the Brazils National Interconnected System (SIN).
Eight companies and two consortiums took part in the bidding for the deal at the Rio de Janeiro Stock Exchange.
Elecnor proposed yearly revenue of 32.4 million reals (14.9 million U.S. dollars) for the line, down 51 percent from the 66.1 million reals (30.5 million dollars) determined by the country's National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) as the top price the bid could reach.
The 949-km line was the longest of the seven transmission lines auctioned on Friday here. The other lines will be built in the southeastern states of Espirito Santo, Minas Gerais and Sao Paulo, mid-west states of Goias and Mato Grosso, southern state of Parana and northern state of Rondonia.
The total investment is expected to reach 1.1 billion reals (507 million dollars).
