The Red Cross Society of China ( RCSC) donated 60,000 U.S. dollars to the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) here Sunday for use in technical training in prevention against natural disaster.
Visiting Vice-President of the RCSC Jiang Yiman handed over the donation to the Myanmar side at a presentation ceremony.
Jiang also met with President of the MRCS Dr. Thar Hla Shwe and the two sides discussed ways of strengthening exchange and cooperation between the two organizations.
The two sides agreed to reciprocal visits and exchange between the two red cross societies as well as cooperation in prevention and relief against natural disaster, provision of medical supplies and healthcare.
According to MRCS officials, the MRCS has received aid from the RCSC on several occasions in recent years when disaster hit Myanmar.
At the invitation of the MRCS, Jiang arrived here Friday on a five-day goodwill visit to Myanmar.
