font size

The Nepali government Monday decided to release 100 million Nepali rupees (1.42 million U.S. dollars) to the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) (formerly known as guerrilla) for the management of the "People's Liberation Army ( PLA)" cantonments across the country.

The decision was taken by a cabinet meeting held in Kathmandu Monday morning.

According to minister for physical planning and works Gopal Man Shrestha, the government will provide the amount to the CPN soon.

The assistance will be used for the immediate management of PLA cantonments due to be constructed in seven places across the country, he said.

The CPN has asked 560 million rupees (8 million dollars) from the government for the management of the PLA camps and arrangements like food and other essential commodities for them.
