Chinese premier meets new, outgoing ambassadors to China

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met in Beijing on Tuesday with 34 new and outgoing ambassadors to China.

Wen thanked the outgoing ambassadors from France, Australia and Thailand for their efforts to promoting relations with China.

He said the Chinese government will offer support and assistance for the new ambassadors.

Wen expressed the hope that the ambassadors would make their utmost efforts to promote the relations between China and their countries.

The newly arrived ambassadors are from Venezuela, Tunisia, Libya, Liberia, Vanuatu, Macedonia, Qatar, Albania, Mauritius, Cote d'Ivoire, Lesotho, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Japan, Uganda, Malta, Serbia, Belarus, Senegal, Moldova, Chile, Burundi, Mali, Cuba, Iceland, Tanzania, Iran, Spain and India.

Among those present at the meeting were two ambassadors designate from Portugal and Lithuania.
