China's textile trade surplus over 100 bln dollars in first ten months

China has registered a 105-billion-dollar surplus in its textile trade in the first ten months of the year, according to statistics of the General Administration of Customs.

The import and export value of China's textile and clothing products rose 17.67 percent from a year ago to 135 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 9.48 percent of the total import and export of the country.

China exported over 120 billion dollars worth of textile and clothing products in the first ten months, up 23.94 percent year-on-year. Imports of textiles and clothing rose by 5.66 percent to 14.6 billion dollars.

Asian countries imported of China-made textiles and clothing products in the first ten months of the year valued at 57.8 billion dollars with a year-on-year growth of 21.48 percent.

Europe saw its import of China-made textile and clothing products rise by 30.55 percent to 29.9 billion dollars over the same time period. Import from the European Union (EU) reached 18.71 billion dollars with a year-on-year growth of 15.32 percent.

China's export of textile and clothing to the United States was 16.97 billion dollars, up 12.55 percent from the same period of last year.

According to the statistics, EU was the top importer of China-made textile and clothing products followed by Hong Kong, the United States and Japan.

China imported 17 million dollars worth of textiles and clothing from Canada in the first ten months, a sharp rise of 70 percent. During the period, its import from Turkey grew by 40 percent year-on-year.
