Traffic accidents in China kill 82,000 people in January-November

China recorded 349,000 traffic accidents in the first 11 months of this year, with the number of deaths falling 8.4 percent from the same period last year to 82,000.

More than 400,000 people were injured and direct property losses totaled 1.36 billion yuan, said Wang Jinbiao, deputy director of the traffic bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, here Thursday.

According to a bureau analysis report, 86.1 percent of the traffic accidents in November were caused by driver error, down 6.1 percentage points from the same month last year.
