China's Tungsten export up in first ten months

China has exported 32,000 tons of tungsten in the first ten months this year, up 1.4 percent over the same period last year, according to statistics released by Chinese custom on Thursday.

The export value hit 870 million U.S. dollars, up 41.7 percent year on year.

According to the statistics, average exported price of China's tungsten products rose 40 percent over the same period last year.

China has lowered the tax rebate on tungsten exports twice since the beginning of this year, and eliminated tax rebate on some tungsten products in September.

The moves that aimed to restrict the export volume of tungsten products lead to a price rise and an improved export structure focused on high-end products.

Experts suggested that the government should encourage enterprises to strengthen technology input to tungsten production in order to raise added value of the products and enhance competitiveness of Chinese enterprises.
