Dollar hits 4-month low in TokyoThe U.S. dollar hit a four-month low in the 114 yen zone Tuesday in Tokyo as market players bet on a weak reading of U.S. economic data. At 5 p.m., the dollar was quoted at 114.96-99 yen, shortly after hitting 114.84 yen, the lowest level in Tokyo since Aug. 10. This compares with Monday's 5 p.m. quotes of 115.22-32 yen in New York and 115.59-62 yen in Tokyo. The day's high was 115.43 yen while the dollar traded most frequently at 115.33 yen. The euro was quoted at 1.3310-3313 dollars and 153.04-08 yen, against Monday's 5 p.m. quotes of 1.3338-3348 dollars and 153.75- 85 yen in New York and 1.3307-3310 dollars and 153.85-89 yen in Tokyo.
