Tibet to elect 26 deputies to 17th CPC National Congress

The Communist Party of China (CPC) Committee of the Tibet Autonomous Region started the nomination and election actions of deputies to the 17th CPC National Congress on Thursday.

A total of 26 deputies from Tibet will be elected for the next year congress, said Yin Deming, head of the CPC organization department of the autonomous region.

The official said the 26 deputies will be elected from 51 nominated candidates and among the 26, with 65 percent to be non-Han-ethnic group party members and 23 percent to be women.
