Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea sign gas supply agreement
font size

Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea have signed a gas supply agreement, enabling Nigeria to export gas to its neighbor, local media reported on Thursday.

Under the agreement signed on Wednesday, Nigeria will supply about 600-800 million standard cubic feet of liquefied gas per day to Equatorial Guinea.

The agreement was signed by the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Funsho Kupolokun and Equatorial Guinea's Minister of Mines, Industry and Energy Atanasio Ela Ntugu.

Addressing the signing ceremony, Kupolokun said the corporation would source the gas from NNPA-Mobil joint venture fields to meet the obligation stipulated in the deal.

The agreement also entailed the allocation of two oil blocks to NNPC in the Equatorial Guinea open acreage, he added.
