Zambian Airways offers low fares for flights to Johannesburg

Zambia Airways has introduced a subsidized return package fare on scheduled flights on the Lusaka- Johannesburg route for festive season, Times of Zambia reported Thursday.

It quoted chief executive officer of the airline Don MacDonald as saying that effective December 1 to February 28 travelers on Zambia Airways would pay 150 U.S. dollars return fare exclusive of government tax on the route which the airline services twice daily.

He said incentive has been introduced to cater for travelers wishing to fly out do their festive period shopping.

"We introduced this promotion because we have discovered that everybody wants to go out, mainly to South Africa, for shopping during the Christmas period," he said.

He said customers will be departing Lusaka at 07:00 and leaving Johannesburg at 18:00 hours local time. MacDonald said that Zambia Airways is happy that it has made flying possible for the average Zambian adding that the positive response from the local clientele will see the airline introduce more value added services on all its destinations.
