A Philippine television network Friday quoted an unidentified source of the country's Department of Foreign Affairs as saying that the postponement of the ASEAN summit is due to alleged terror threats.
The GMA News network website report contrasted claim by summit organizers and Philippine officials that a possible typhoon is the reason for the postponement of the summit.
Philippine organizers of the summit suddenly announced Friday afternoon that the summit has been postponed until January next year due to the threat of a typhoon which is moving toward central Philippines.
The United States, Britain and Australia have warned that terrorists could stage attacks in Cebu during the summit, originally planned for Dec. 11 until 14.
