Wang Yifu was elected as vice-chairman of the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League (TDSGL), one of the eight democratic parties, at the fifth plenary meeting of TDSGL's seventh Central Committee which concluded here Friday.
Born in March 1950, Wang Yifu is a native of Tainan City in Taiwan. He is currently deputy governor of southeast China's Fujian Province and member of TDSGL's Central Committee.
At the meeting, Lin Wenyi, the League's chairperson, said TDSGL will continue to put "promoting development" on its top agenda so as to contribute to the building of a harmonious socialist society.
And TDSGL will stick to the basic principles of "peaceful reunification" and "one country, two systems", the eight-point proposal on developing cross-Straits relations, as well as to boost exchanges with the Taiwan compatriots home and abroad, Lin said.
