Lower Danube Euroregion sets 2007 objectivesRomania, Moldova and Ukraine, the three members of the Lower Danube Euroregion, met in Tulcea of southeastern Romania on Friday and approved the activity plans for 2007. "A series of projects have been drawn up and, due to the financial support of the EU, we can implement and develop them to the benefit of all partner countries of Lower Danube Euroregion," said Gheorghe Bunduc, the chairman of Tulcea County Council and the Lower Danube Euroregion's president. He added that the sustained development of the economic relations between the three countries is desirable. Among the measures for the next year approved on Friday by the Economy Commission of Lower Danube Euroregion are organizing a joint stand of the institution in the 5th edition of International Tourism Fair in Odessa, Ukraine, and a project financed from European funds for promoting "green tourism " in the Euroregion. Moreover, some of the 2007 measures of the Commission for Transport and Communications refer to drawing up a project of passenger and heavy freight border-crossing point between Orlovka (Ukraine) and Isaccea (Romania), and also the analysis of the opportunity to open a direct air line between regional airports in Odessa and Ismail (Ukraine), Cahul (Republic of Moldova) and Tulcea (Romania).
