Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Monday welcomed the resumption of the six-party talks on the Korean peninsular nuclear issue on Dec. 18, Kyodo News reported.
Abe, urging for concrete results at the scheduled talks, reiterated that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea must take concrete action to abolish its nuclear arms programs and resolve its past abductions of Japanese nationals.
A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman announced on Monday the scheduled resumption of the six-party talks.
