font size

UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan welcomed on Monday the announced resumption of the six-party talks aimed at achieving a non-nuclear Korean peninsula.

In a statement released by his spokesman, Annan hoped that the participants in the talks will use this opportunity to make meaningful progress towards implementing their Joint Statement of Sept. 19, 2005.

He also reiterated the steadfast UN support for this multilateral diplomatic approach.
