Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Chief Executive Donald Tsang offered his condolence to the passing of T.S. Lo Tuesday.
A statement issued by the HKSAR government on Tuesday morning said that Tsang was saddened to learn of the passing of Mr T.S. Lo Monday night.
"On behalf of the HKSAR government, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to Mr Lo's family," Tsang said.
As former president of the Law Society of Hong Kong, Lo had conducted a distinguished career in law, business, publishing and public services, the statement said. He had contributed to Hong Kong's smooth reunification with the motherland in his various capacities as a member of the Preparatory Committee of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, a vice chairman of the Basic Law Consultative Committee, and a Hong Kong Affairs adviser.
Lo was a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and had served as a member of both the Executive and Legislative Councils before the reunification. He was awarded the Grand Bauhinia Medal (GBM) in 1997.
