Massive coal reserves confirmed in Inner Mongolia

After two year of prospecting, it has been confirmed that Inner Mongolia has the secondly largest coal reserves in China. The region has some 318.9 billion tons of newly proven coal reserve, 1.4 times the current amount.

Inner Mongolia had previously been shown to hold some 220 billion tons of coal, next only to Shanxi Province, which had more than 250 billion tons.
