Mainland issues plan for cross-Strait chartered flights in Spring Festival
font size

China's mainland on Wednesday published the plan for chartered passenger flights to Taiwan during the next Chinese New Year holiday, which falls on Feb. 18, 2007.

Li Weiyi, spokesman of the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, said the flights -- agreed by both sides -- would begin on Feb. 5, and mainland and Taiwan airlines would make 96 flights across the Taiwan Strait over the 14-day period.

The chartered passenger flights are expected to shuttle between Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou on the mainland, and Taipei and Kaohsiung, on Taiwan.
