Chinese press delegation visits Zimbabwe

A six-member delegation of Chinese television and radio personnel has arrived in Harare for a two-day visit to produce a documentary about the country.

Vice governor of China's Hebei Province Shi Bin, who is leading the delegation, said his delegation would be visiting the Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park during their visit.

Speaking after meeting the delegation on Monday, Zimbabwe's Environment and Tourism Minister Francis Nhema said it was necessary to keep marketing the country to China.

"Marketing of Zimbabwe as a repute tourist destination was now targeted at different provinces in China," he said.

"Our relationship with China has grown from strength to strength. We believe it is important to keep reminding them of Zimbabwe as a destination," he added.

Nhema said production of a documentary by the Chinese press would help in marketing the country.
