Chinese movie actor Chen Kun and actress Sun Li were appointed on Thursday as "goodwill ambassadors" for the Exchange Year between China and the Republic of Korea (ROK) in 2007, a yearlong exchange program celebrating 15th anniversary of bilateral ties.
China and the ROK have agreed to hold bilateral Exchange Year in 2007 during Chinese President Hu Jintao's visit to the ROK in November last year.
Each of the two countries appoints two young popular stars as "goodwill ambassadors". The ROK singer An Chil Hyun and actress Jang Na Ra have been appointed by the ROK side as "goodwill ambassadors" for the events.
According to the agenda of the Exchange Year unveiled Tuesday, the two countries will hold various activities covering politics, culture, education, sports, science and technology.
The key events will include an opening ceremony in Seoul at the beginning of 2007, a celebration of the 15th anniversary of diplomatic ties on Aug. 24, and a closing ceremony in Beijing near the year-end.
