The Chinese Communist Youth League (CCYL) and the Chinese Kuomintang Youth League (Young KMT) will jointly hold the Cross-strait Youth Forum on Friday, according to CCYL sources.
It will be the first such meeting co-sponsored by the two youth leagues, which will be attended by about 160 people from the mainland and 80 from Taiwan.
The two sides will publish a "Cross-strait Youth Forum Consensus" at the end of the gathering, which is aimed to deepen cooperation and exchange between young people across the Taiwan Strait, in the fields of economy, trade, science and technology.
After the forum, the Taiwan delegates are scheduled to visit sites built for 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Some of them will travel to Shanghai Municipality and Zhejiang Province, in east China.
