Photo exhibition features 7th anniversary of Macao's return

Over 700 photos were exhibited here Thursday, displaying Macao's achievements gained during the seven years after its return to China.

The exhibition, sponsored by the Macao Chinese Peaceful Pro- reunification Organization, opened here Thursday. In addition to reviewing the history of Macao and the procedure of its return to China, the exhibition showed achievements obtained in economic and social areas since China assumed the exercise of sovereignty over Macao in 1999.

The exhibition also shows 74 works of calligraphy and paintings to celebrate the 7th anniversary of Macao's return to China. With the theme of "One Country, Two Systems", the works were selected from over 400 candidates works across the Taiwan Straits.

Vice Chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People 's Political Consultative Conference Liu Yandong and Macao Special Administrative Region Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah cut the ribbon for the exhibition.

More than 1,000 delegates of overseas Chinese pro-reunification organizations from 50 countries and regions, who are here for the Overseas Chinese World Conference for Promoting Peaceful Reunification of China which opened here Thursday, visited the exhibition.
