CPPCC leader ends Macao tour
font size

Liu Yandong, Vice Chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), wrapped up her Macao tour and departed for Beijing on Sunday.

The official arrived here Wednesday to attend the Overseas Chinese World Conference for Promoting Peaceful Reunification of China, which is launched annually by overseas Chinese pro- reunification organizations worldwide.

Liu told the media at the Macao International Airport that during her visit she has eyed the dramatic change of Macao under the leadership of Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah and his administration.

Macao's change proves the success of the implementation of "one country, two systems," and demonstrates that the Macao Basic Law is the legal foundation of Macao's prosperity and stability, said the official.

She expressed her wish that the Macao compatriots would exert more effort to build a more prosperous, harmonious and beautiful Macao.
