Shell Global Solutions (SGS), a consultancy subsidiary attached to the Royal Dutch Shell Group, signed a pact on Tuesday with India's Center for High Technology (CHT) to help four major oil refineries of India to improve their efficiency.
Under the three-year pact called Integrated Business Improvement Program, Shell will help Indian Oil Corp., Chennai Petroleum Corp.,Hindustan Petroleum Corp and Bharat Petroleum Corp. to enhance their profits, energy efficiency and operations, the SGS said.
The deal followed SGS' "East-Oriented Strategy" to provide individual services to customers and find talents in Asia in line with Asia's demand for energy, said Wayne Hutchinson, vice- president of SGS's Sales, Marketing and Consulting division.
The four refineries of India currently supply about 25 percent of refined petroleum products, such as gasoline, aviation fuel and diesel, to India's domestic market.
CHT Executive Director K.S.Balaraman said that SGS owns extensive operation experience, outstanding technology and well- trained experts and the signing of the pact is a positive progress for the Indian refineries, which would help them improve energy efficiency and business performance.
The Indian side is looking forward to join hands with SGS, he said.
