Kazakstan president arrives in Beijing for state visit

Kazakstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev arrived in Beijing Tuesday for a five-day state visit during which the two countries will ink about 10 agreements in various fields.

During Nazarbayev's visit, the first since he won a re-election last December, Chinese President Hu Jintao, top legislator Wu Bangguo and Premier Wen Jiabao will hold talks or meet with him respectively.

China and Kazakhstan will sign more than 10 agreements of cooperation during Nazarbayev's visit, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang said last week.

"China and Kazakhstan have maintained a good-neighborly relationship and the two sides will celebrate 15th anniversary of diplomatic relations next January," Qin said.

Qin said bilateral ties have been deepening and the China-Kazakhstan strategic partnership has scored fruitful achievements within bilateral or regional organization framework.

China highly values its relations with Kazakhstan which is an important neighbor and partner of China, he added.
