CPPCC vice-chairman highlights theory research

Research into political consultation theory is of vital importance to provide theoretical foundation for the work of China's advisory body, a senior Chinese official said Thursday.

Wang Zhongyu, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), made the remarks at the first seminar of the Chinese Institute of Political Consultation Theory Research.

Wang highlighted the importance of fostering a team to make research into the theory of people's political consultative conferences. New progress should be made in this area, he said.

The two-day seminar has received more than 270 theses on political consultation, covering a wide range of topic such as political consultation on the construction of harmonious society and comparative studies of political consultation between China and foreign countries.
