Oil futures fall slightly
font size

Crude oil futures fell slightly on Friday, amid mild weather in northern United States.

New York's main contract, light sweet crude for delivery in February, fell 25 cents to close at 62.41 dollars a barrel.

In London, Brent North Sea crude for delivery in February dropped 4 cents to settle with 62.42 dollars a barrel.

This winter in northeast United States, the world's largest consumer of heating fuel, is warmer than normal. The National Weather Service said the northern United States will have higher- than-average temperatures till January. The warmer winter could boost the distillate stockpiles and weaken the fuel prices.
