Afghan and the U.S.-led coalition force have arrested five people on charge of having links with militants in eastern Afghanistan, the coalition said Sunday.
"Afghan security forces assisted by coalition forces captured five suspected terrorists during an operation Saturday evening in Jalalabad of Nangarhar province," the coalition said in a press release.
However, it did not identify the nationalities of the five. And no Afghan and coalition forces were injured during the operation.
Afghan law enforcement agencies with the support of NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) also thwarted a bomb attack on a mosque in Khost province in eastern Afghanistan Saturday.
More than two dozens of suspected militants have been arrested in eastern Afghanistan over the past couple of months.
